It took a while, but Atlas Hugged has come to the attention of the Ayn Rand Institute! Here is an 84-minute conversation between two fellows of the Institute, Keith Lockitch and Ben Bayer, who tear my novel apart in their own minds. For me, it provides a window into their own minds. Their reaction is a testimony to the fact that whether a story is loved or hated depends on how the moral worldview conveyed by the story interacts with the moral worldview of the reader. There is also a tricky dance between critiquing a person and critiquing the ideas of the person and the larger tradition represented by the ideas. Anyhow, I have suggested my openness to a dialogue but they haven’t taken me up on it yet. I’ll let you know when and if they do!
